چکیده

Abstract The molar masses and mass distributions of three commercial regenerated cellulose samples, viscose rayon, Tencel, Bemliese (or cuprammonium nonwoven), have been determined by dissolution in 8% (w/w) lithium chloride/ N , -dimethylacetamide (LiCl/DMAc) subsequent size-exclusion chromatography with multi-angle laser-light scattering detection (SEC/MALLS). Before LiCl/DMAc, the samples were pretreated following methods: (1) soaking ethylene diamine (EDA) solvent exchange to (DMAc) through methanol, (2) water DMAc ethanol, (3) tert-butyl alcohol ethanol freeze dying. dissolved LiCl/DMAc stirring cellulose/LiCl/DMAc mixtures for 1–3 weeks followed dilution 1% (w/v) SEC/MALLS analysis. EDA- water-pretreated gave almost same SEC-elution pattens plots, resulting similar number- mass-average masses. However, freeze-dried 10%‒20% lower recovery ratios than those obtained or probably because incomplete LiCl/DMAc. average degree polymerization values 340, 530, 880, respectively. slopes conformation plots 0.58–0.62, showing that all molecules forming linear random-coil conformations. Cellulose degradation in pulp fibers studied as changes in molar mass distributions

In this thesis, size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) of wood polymers dissolved in lithium chloride/N,N-dimethylacetamide (LiCl/DMAc) has been used to characterize the molar mass distributions (MMD) of wood polymers in pulp fibers after chemical degradation. Characterization of birch kraft pulps subjected to ozone degradation and acid hydrolysis, respectively, rendered different changes in the M...

Dissolving Pulp (alpha-cellulose) from Corn Stalk by Kraft Process

Corn stalk can be used as an alternative non-wood raw material to produce cellulosic dissolving grade pulp. In this work, the potential of corn stalk in the production of dissolving pulp (alpha-cellulose) was investigated. It was collect ed from a corn stalk farm of Kermanshah, Iran. The sequences of experimental work were: water and acid prehydrolysis at 160˚C for 30min, followed by Kraft pulp...

Physical state of cellulose in BmimCl: dependence of molar mass on viscoelasticity and sol-gel transition.

In this work, we investigated the correlation between the molar mass and the rheological properties of cellulose/1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (BmimCl) solutions, and provided the depolymerization kinetics of cellulose in BmimCl. Gel permeation chromatography was used to track the change in molar mass and kinetics as a function of the dissolution time. The molar mass of cellulose in Bmim...
